The schedule is as follows:
March 23: Prepare patterns, fabrics, and notions WE ARE HERE!
March 24: Cut your fabric
March 25: Begin Swimsuit
March 26: Continue (and/or finish) swimsuit
March 27: Sew second item (this is now optional and is a bonus entry for prizes!)
March 28: Catch up day over the weekend
March 29: Post final makes in the final thread to be eligible for prizes!

First up is making sure your fabric is washed and ready to go! I always wash all my fabrics and hang them to dry prior to sewing them up. I like to say this is to check for shrinkage, but mainly this is to wash off any chemicals that have made it onto the fabric before it made it to my hands. 🙂

Next up, is choosing and preparing your pattern(s). Be sure to check this post for discounts for a couple of our sponsors if you are still unsure of which pattern(s) you want to make!

You may have to print and tape or glue your pattern together or trace your pattern if it’s a paper pattern. Check your measurements to get the right size. This will probably be your most time consuming part today if you are preparing a new pattern or size that you haven’t made before.

A couple of links for tips:

This is a great post by Cloth Habit that discusses various adjustments that can be made on the bottom of bikinis or one piece swimsuits.

Here is a basic post by one of our sponsors, Patterns for Pirates, about grading patterns between sizes.

Last up today is making sure you have all the notions you may need for your patterns! I have all mine in one bag ready to go so they are handy when I need them.

That’s it for today! Tomorrow we’ll be cutting our fabric, so stay tuned! Day 2 is here!

As always, let me know if you have any questions or comments! Thanks for stopping by!

Cheers!
