GS 2020 Fit Capsule Part 1

Happy Friday, everyone! Greenstyle Creations is in the third week of their Fit Capsule challenge and I am sharing the first part of my capsule today. My plan this year was to go neutral and add in some much needed workout tanks.

I started with these two fabrics from The Fabric Fairy. I’ve been trying to be more strategic with my fabric orders to make sure I either 1. use up all the fabric to eliminate scraps or 2. can use the fabric for multiple items/people. Both of these fabrics I knew I could use for both my son and I, as well as multiple items.

I started with this basic white Solo Tank. I LOVE the Solo Tank on hot summer days. I have written about it previously here. The low armscyes and loose fit allow for air flow to keep me nice and cool. I’m not one to workout in just a bra, so this tank has been a favorite of mine.

I graded out the hips one size to get the perfect fit. I also decided to bind the neck and armscyes for a nice, clean look. I go back and forth between which way I prefer: bindings or bands, and I’m not sure I have a favorite!

This fabric is amazing. It is the Carbon White Ultralight Poly Lycra Tricot from The Fabric Fairy. The description describes this fabric as a great swim lining option, which I agree with (more to come on that at a later date). The fabric doesn’t feel like normal swim lining, and definitely feels like Tricot. It is ultralight as the name says, at only 5.5 oz. per yard. I think the fabric makes an awesome lightweight tank for working out and know this will be a staple all summer long!

Next up, I was planning on making another pair of leggings, but could NOT decide on which pattern. When really thinking about my capsule, I knew that last summer I lived in my Moxi Compression Shorts (an add on for the Moxi Shorts). I ultimately landed on a another pair since our days are getting warmer here in the desert. I previously wrote about them here.

I made the Compression Shorts as is, lengthening the pocket piece by a couple of inches. I used the gusset (love that triangle gusset!). I also decided to try using the Greenstyle Contour Waistband with these shorts. Last summer I used the Super G waistband, and decided to try this new waistband this time around.

This fabric is really fun. It is the Black Chevrons on Cadet Blue Poly Spandex. The black chevrons are printed on a matte blue fabric! That means NO WHITE showing through when stretched! A huge win in my book. The fabric is smooth and is a medium weight-so perfect for bottoms.

Next up, I wanted another Power Bra. I wear these EVERYDAY, sometimes multiple in one day if I get sweaty or shower midday. I wanted one that was basic and quick, so I opted for the solid front and my back hack that I shared here.

I used some scraps from my stash for the inside of the bra and waistband to save this fabric for another make. The fabric would also look great as a tank, as it does have some drape, and I think I might try that with what I have left!
