Me Made May was started by So, Zo… What Do You Know? nine years ago. Basically, you are to take the time to sew something or things for yourself during this time. Others interpret it as taking time to wear and highlight items you have made yourself. This year, as usual, Zoe has asked those hoping to participate to pledge on her blog your plans!

My idea for this year is very simple. I plan to sew for myself as much as I can, but also wear something me made everyday. Even if it’s just undies that nobody else will see! I basically do this anyway, but this way I’ll be taking note and seeing what I grab for first or what I wish I had.
I’ll be highlighting my items everyday over on my instagram page. Be sure to click so you can follow along!
To start things off this year, I decided to wear a dress that I had made during last year’s Me Made May, before realizing the history and how it started. I’m beginning to learn more and actively seek out where things began in the sewing world.
I have a long list of items I’m hoping to sew up this month. I’m pretty swamped until May 9th with school, but after my last presentation I have a date with my machines! Well, I’ll probably be spending some time with my family as well who will be visiting, but you know… sewing (and job hunting). 🙂
Are you planning on participating in Me Made May this year? If so, what are you hoping to do or accomplish? Be sure to let me know in the comments below!
Don’t forget to check out Zoe’s blog and sign up for the challenge if you’re interested!
