I am excited to say I am joining in on the Blogger Co-Op! I’ll (hopefully) try it out for a few weeks and see how I like it! The Blogger Co-Op has been around for a few years, but recently underwent a name change. I’ve been following along since the New Year, and am finally jumping in!
I’m not sure how I’ll do this each week. Most likely it will depend on how much time I have. 🙂
This week, I’ll be talking about updating, building, and hiding!
Updating: For Christmas this year, my aunt Judy gave me a beautiful notebook. As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to finally start a sewing journal! If you all read my last post, I am wearing a shirt that I could not remember the pattern. I know it is one of two, but haven’t taken the time to pull out the patterns to double check. Another reason to keep an updated journal is because I sometimes make modifications while cutting (adding length) or take a smaller seam allowance when sewing and forget what modifications I made when I go to make the next one. By having a sewing journal, I can write down all the details from the pattern and modifications, to the size sewn and fabric type and company. I plan to update the journal at each step of the sewing process: planning, cutting, sewing, wearing. I’ve only been using it in this way for about three weeks and have had limited sewing time, but so far so good!
Building: I have been working on building my blog. I started Luna & Laika to document my sewing over the years, and a way to share my work with others. I have had my blog for nearly two years, but did not start posting regularly until the last few months. I am now almost to 1,000 views which is exciting for me. I know, barely any in the blog world, but about 700 of those views have been since December! I have a goal to reach 1,000 by the end of the month… 🙂 I’ll let you know next week if I hit it!
Hiding: One thing I always do in my photos which may seem strange in the blog world, is hide my kid’s beautiful face. This is something that my husband and I talk about often, and is very important to us. Every family is different and has their own comfort level, and this is ours! 🙂
I wrote about this Dino here.
I’m looking forward to linking up with the rest of the blogs each Sunday, and to have something to hopefully make sure I post each week. 🙂
